Wild Hill Hall (Brookman’s Park, Hatfield)
Apple Daycare at Wild Hill Hall is nestled in the peaceful countryside of Wildhill, just outside Brookman’s Park, offering a calm and nurturing setting surrounded by rolling fields and scenic farmland. The hall enjoys access to beautiful open spaces and countryside walks, providing children with daily opportunities to explore nature and enjoy fresh air in a safe, rural environment. The setting benefits from a private outdoor area as well as convenient on-site parking, making drop-off and collection simple and stress-free.
Wild Hill Hall is led by a dedicated and experienced team of early years professionals, including fully qualified Level 3 practitioners, supported by Level 2 staff and apprentices working towards their qualifications. The team bring a wealth of experience, including support for SEN and communication development, creating an inclusive and supportive environment for every child.
Fresh, home-cooked meals are prepared each day, alongside opportunities for children to take part in baking and food-related activities. The nursery’s focus is firmly on supporting the Early Years Foundation Stage, using tailored planning and tracking to ensure each child benefits from a personalised learning journey. Days are thoughtfully structured around child-led play, complemented by engaging adult-led activities such as creative arts, storytelling, and group sessions.
Outdoor learning is a key part of life at Wild Hill Hall, with regular countryside walks and Forest School experiences encouraging curiosity, independence, and physical development. Children are supported to walk and explore at their own pace, with additional support available when needed.
Parents are kept closely connected to their child’s day through a digital learning journal, which shares updates, photographs, and key developmental moments. Wild Hill Hall also enriches its programme with a variety of extracurricular activities and celebrates a wide range of cultural events throughout the year, creating a vibrant and well-rounded nursery experience.
Lemsford Hall (Brocket Road, Welwyn Garden City)
Lemsford Hall provides care from birth to 5 years age group.
Apple Daycare at Lemsford Hall is set on the recreation ground in the quiet village of Lemsford just before Brocket Hall on the road between Welwyn Garden City and St Albans. As well as the recreation ground and play area, Lemsford Hall has access to many woodland walks and daily rambles over the Brocket Hall estate. The setting is surrounded by open fields with a small courtyard private garden. There is ample parking so very easy to drop and collect. Lemsford Hall is managed by a fully qualified L3 early years educator and she is ably assisted by L3 and L2 practitioners with SEN, Matakon and sign experience, apprentice’s, studying for L2. The house chef prepares a variety of fresh home cooked meals each day and many baking activities with the children. The main focus at Lemsford Hall is to promote the early years foundation stage. Lemsford Hall uses tracking and planning software to create a bespoke learning experience for your child. The day is planned and focuses on child led play, punctuated with adult led activities such as story frog, painting and craft. The nursery conduct forest school adventure walks along the many footpaths surrounding the site. Lemsford Hall encourage the children to walk as much as they can and for those unsteady on their feet there is always a pushchair or buggy to help with a ride. Each day they report your child's activities through our digital online learning journal where you will see what they did and when and it will be accompanied by a few photographs and a vignette which describes a significant moment as well as general preschool activities. Lemsford Hall work with Best Theatre Company for drama skills, Little Club for street dance and sensory music sessions, impact sports and Super Star Sports offer a wide variety of sporting activities. The nursery also celebrates many different cultural events throughout the year.
Oxlease House (Traveller's Lane, Hatfield)
Oxlease House provides care from birth to 5 years age group.
Apple Daycare at Oxlease House is set just in front of Oxlease nature reserve and playing fields. Oxlease House is surrounded by its own private garden. The nursery is managed by a fully qualified L6 early years educator and she is ably assisted by L3 practitioners and has a L4 and SEN leader with Makaton and sign experience. The house chef prepares a variety of fresh home cooked meals each day and many baking activities with the children. Oxlease House promotes the early years foundation stage and also uses tracking and planning software to create a bespoke learning experience for your child. The day is planned and focuses on child led play, punctuated with adult led activities. Each day Oxlease House report your child's activities through their digital online learning journal accompanied by a few photographs and a vignette which describes a significant moments and development observations. Oxlease House also works with Supernastics for gymnastic skills, Miss Hollie for music and dance, and Super Star Sports offer a wide variety of sporting activities. Oxlease House also celebrate many different cultural events throughout the year.
Aboyne Lodge (St Alban’s)
Apple Daycare at Aboyne Lodge is located within the grounds of Aboyne Lodge Primary School in the heart of St Albans, offering a vibrant and welcoming setting for children to learn and grow. The nursery benefits from a purpose-built indoor environment alongside its own dedicated garden and outdoor play area, creating a balanced space where children can explore, play and develop both inside and out.
Caring for children from birth to five years, Aboyne Lodge provides a nurturing and inclusive environment tailored to each stage of early development. The setting is led by an experienced management team, supported by qualified Level 3 and Level 2 practitioners and apprentices, ensuring a strong, knowledgeable team dedicated to supporting every child’s individual journey.
Fresh, home-cooked meals are prepared daily by the in-house chef, with regular opportunities for children to get involved in baking and food-based activities. The nursery delivers a thoughtfully designed curriculum that offers rich and engaging learning experiences, with individual planning to extend children at every level—whether they are developing key early skills or preparing for the transition to school.
The day at Aboyne Lodge is centred around the Early Years Foundation Stage, with activities carefully planned to support all areas of development including communication, physical skills, creativity and early literacy. A mixed-age approach encourages younger children to learn from their older peers, while older children build confidence, empathy and a sense of responsibility. All activities are tailored to be age and stage appropriate, ensuring every child progresses at their own pace.
The nursery is thoughtfully organised into two dedicated rooms—one for under 2s and one for over 2s—allowing each space to be carefully tailored to the developmental needs of the children. The bespoke under 2s room offers a warm, cosy and nurturing environment, designed to feel safe and comforting, with soft furnishings and calming spaces that support early bonding, rest and sensory exploration. As children grow, the over 2s room provides a more dynamic and stimulating environment, encouraging independence, social interaction and more structured learning opportunities.

General information
Our sites are open from 07:30am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday and are open all year round, except for Bank Holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year. All the sites run to a similar daily routine with as much outdoor time as possible, promoting forest education. Each site has its own Manager and team of staff and offer extra activities such as sports coaches, gymnastics, and dance teachers which are included in the fees.
